New mDoE software toolbox for model-based optimization of bioengineering processes

The development and optimization of bio-based products is strongly empirical. This often involves Design-of-Experiments (DoE) methods which require a large number of time-intensive experiments. The design, particularly the limitation of the parameters, is difficult and the significance is often limited.

The aim of the project is to offer modular software tools which connect DoE strategies with mathematical process models. Thus the experimental effort is greatly reduced and the significance of a DoE considerably increased. In the feasibility phase, together with partners the software toolbox will be developed in steps, evaluated and its effectiveness demonstrated on relevant bioeconomical example processes.
