Artificial Intelligence Mountains Labs
The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economics, Labour and Tourism is funding 16 regional AI labs in Baden-Württemberg with €3.1 million as part of the "AI Action Programme for SMEs". KIM-Labs (Artificial Intelligence Mountains Labs) was successful with its concept in the funding call for the continuation of regional AI labs and will be funded with approximately €200,000. KIM-Labs is jointly run by MedicalMountains GmbH, the Hahn-Schickard Institute for Applied Research, and Furtwangen University.
The regional AI labs are intended to help small and medium-sized enterprises in particular recognise the potential of AI, identify concrete areas of application in their industry and business environment, and take initial steps toward AI applications. Companies will also be able to use the facilities to gather information, network, and to carry out tests and experiments. The labs will support companies which lack a budget for digital labs and the capacity for complex experiments.
The academic expertise of the project partners and the support of partner companies with experience in artificial intelligence which is available through the KIM Labs project, will be offered across all sectors, with the goal of removing existing hurdles to AI innovation.
