Working at HFU

At HFU you don't stand still – we place great value on lifelong learning. We also support educational leave for employees and further training for teaching staff.

HFU offers flexible working hours by arrangement and the option of working from home. Whether in the faculty, in the institute, in your department or in a project – we work closely together in our immediate teams and in the HFU community as a whole. We look out for each other and ensure that our responsibilities are aligned with our life situation!

As a sustainable university with three locations, we support the mobility of HFU members with a job ticket for using local public transport.

And for all those who would like to gain experience abroad, there are great opportunities through "Erasmus staff mobility"! We are happy to enable employees and professors at the university to take part in further training or a guest lectureship abroad. We maintain a friendly and informal working atmosphere. The activities offered by our staff council, such as the joint staff outing or a shared lunch in our canteens, give you the opportunity to get to know your colleagues from different departments better.

Workplace health promotion is a top priority for us and is important to us – we organise regular events such as health days and our "active break" to offer our employees a balance. 

Numerous outdoor activities await you after work. Whether running in summer or cross-country skiing on the Black Forest trails in winter – you're guaranteed to find your sporting counterbalance.
