Occupational health management at HFU
HEALTH FOR US: A healthy university
The health of our employees is a top priority for us at HFU.
Our Occupational Health Management (OHM) develops programmes that help us all to work together in a healthy and enjoyable way. We are the focal point for health at the university, developing holistic solutions for, and with, all departments and facilities, at all locations.
Initiatives
From the “ideas meeting” model to the training of mental first aiders − it is important to us to develop processes and initiatives that support us in our daily collaboration and strengthen us individually. In cooperation with the HFU Academy, we are developing internal training concepts, for example on the topic of “healthy leadership”.
Events
The BGM team at HFU regularly organises health days with different focal points, which provide impulses for individual health promotion − for example the “Mental Health Week”. Employees can try out new things in courses and give feedback and requests. There are also exercise programmes such as running groups or the “Active break” and collaborations with sports providers.
Partners
HFU has a strong partner in the Techniker Krankenkasse, with whom we work closely on health issues. In a regular steering committee, we are constantly working on new, healthy ideas for the university and everyone who works here.
Work-life balance
HFU attaches a great deal of importance to the work-life balance of its employees. Employees are therefore given the opportunity to adapt their work to their personal needs. In general, the university offers part-time employment in accordance with legal requirements and, where possible, provides flexible working time models.
Furtwangen University offers its employees the option of “mobile working” by arrangement. This means that they are not tied to a fixed workplace and, depending on the situation, can also work flexibly outside the university, for example in a home office. In this way, we want to promote the compatibility of work and family life, support people with disabilities and make a contribution to environmental protection. Our aim is to establish a working environment that has a positive impact on the satisfaction, performance and health of our employees.
