Universities centralise continuing education offerings
In-service qualification is a matter of course for many specialists and managers. But how do you find the right continuing education courses quickly?
All such courses offered by state universities in Baden-Württemberg will now be found on one central platform.
Project within the framework of University Continuing Education@BW
As part of the Hochschulweiterbildung@BW project of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Research, Science and the Arts (MWK), the regional continuing education platform "südwissen" will be expanded over the next few years into a statewide digital showcase for academic continuing education under the name weiter.mit.Bildung@BW. The platform is already up and running and the number of courses offered is growing daily. The project and overall coordination is being managed by the Freiburg Academy of Continuing Education, and the operation of the platform by the Computer Centre in the E-Learning Department at the University of Freiburg.
The cluster of regional and subject networking centers
In the Hochschulweiterbildung@BW project, regional and specialist networking centres have been set up at 25 universities in Baden-Württemberg. This community is coordinated by the HFU Academy at Furtwangen University. The networkers support their respective universities in placing their continuing education courses on the statewide central platform, thus achieving greater visibility. Regional and subject-related clusters work together to match the needs of business and society with the right university continuing education initiatives, promoting professional exchange between the needs of business and the possibilities of science for developing customised continuing education offerings.
A quality seal will be created for the overall project to ensure that the quality of university continuing education programmes in science and the arts in Baden-Württemberg is visible and transparent. An organisational unit for quality development will promote innovative educational formats, didactic exchange and mutual recognition of continuing education offerings.
