Welcome to the HFU newsletter!
With this first issue of 2025, we would like to give you insights into the many topics of current importance at our university. At HFU, we are working at full speed on the further development of our university. We have reached an important milestone on this path with the new faculty structure. With these four faculties − Computer Science & Applications, Engineering & Technology, Health, Medical & Life Sciences and Business, Design & Media − we are strengthening our profile and our partnerships. The successful start to the summer semester, and the positive feedback from the scientific community and industry, show that we are on the right track!
A particularly good example of the valuable and close cooperation we enjoy with our industry partners took place last week. As always, the University Careers Fair on the Furtwangen campus was very busy with over 70 exhibitor stands where our students were able to network with company representatives directly. The members of the university executive, many researchers and lecturers, and I myself had the opportunity to hold interesting discussions with the companies. And we are proud of the feedback − our students are in great demand, and joint research and transfer projects are on the increase.
This newsletter reports on these and other exciting encounters and developments.
