Questions about studying engineering? Student Melina Blum advises prospective students at the Open Day
Academic counselling, taster lectures and workshops for prospective students and parents - with a kids university for the curious
On Sunday, 27 April from 1.00 - 6.00pm, Tuttlingen Campus will open its doors. Prospective students can get to know the Tuttlingen campus of Furtwangen University (HFU) and its bachelor's and master's degree programmes in meetings with students and professors, taster lectures, workshops and laboratory and campus tours. There is also a “Kids University” (from age three upwards). Participation is free of charge and no registration is required.
"From a Technical Orientation taster course to Medical Technology, Engineering Psychology, Mechatronics and Digital Production and Applied Materials Science programmes − or lectures on artificial knee joints, visual perception or electronics workshops. Our programme is comprehensive. On the day, we show how multifaceted an engineering degree is and how enthusiastic our students, our partners from industry and the region and the team from this faculty are, and we want to share this with young and old alike,” explains Professor Dr. Ulrich Kallmann, Site Director and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
Research stations for experimenting
As part of the Kids University, the Tuttlingen campus offers research stations with, for example, a technology and physics show or a library media quiz. “Inquisitive minds can solder, operate like a surgeon in an operating theater, or print 3D models,” says Kallmann. “And there's a surprise on top.”
