Over 1,000 graduates are now members of the DM Alumni Network demonstrating their strong connection to the Faculty of Digital Media. We invite you to join this network so you can profit from it, too.
If you are not yet registered with our Alumni Network, you can do so by filling out the form below. Every semester you will receive our email newsletter as well as invitations to any events taking place in the Faculty.
We would be happy to receive feedback from you on our alumni work. Just send an email to: dm.alumni(at)hs-furtwangen.de. We look forward to hearing from you!
Our students have several opportunities to spend time in companies, either during the mandatory internship in the 3rd semester, during thesis work or as a working student. As alumni you have the advantage over other companies in that you already have an idea of the level of knowledge of the students and are familiar with the curriculum at the Faculty of Digital Media from your own experience. The same applies of course, if you would like to recruit graduates. Media Day is a particularly good opportunity to speak to DM students and graduating students to find out what field they are interested in, as are the talks and workshops which are organized.
An interdisciplinary research and design project is an integral part of our three master's programmes, Interactive Media Design, Computer Science in Media and MusicDesign. As an external client, you could work with our student research teams to find solutions for your company. Alternatively you could start your own, long-term research project with our professors, supported by various student research teams over the space of several semesters. Thanks to the broad-ranging curricula of the Faculty, we can research in many different areas. Contact us to find out more.
Cooperation in the Curriculum
If you wish to outsource a specific task or simply need some fresh ideas from an external source, you can also become a partner in one of several teaching areas. In practicals or practical seminars such as the course project, students could work on approaches, ideas or finished solutions to your individual specifications. Find out more about all our cooperation opportunities here.
The Faculty of Digital Media offers interesting workshops, bootcamps and lectures on a regular basis. We always reserve places for our alumni at events with limited places. Take the opportunity we offer to increase your knowledge, or share your knowledge with others by offering an event yourself. This has two advantages: you introduce your firm to potential future employees and business partners, and at the same time you get to know our students and can contact them directly if you have vacancies in your company for internships, thesis work, student jobs or entry-level positions.
We will send you the most important information every semester in our bi-annual email newsletter. Stay up-to-date with developments in teaching, staff changes and the successes of our students, as well as events at the Faculty. You'll find out early about important dates for the coming semester and special conditions for alumni at various events. As a registered alumnus you will receive our newsletter automatically. If you have not yet received it, you can sign up for the newsletter right away here.
At our events, students can make valuable contacts for practicals, thesis work, for a part-time job and for their later career. Alumni often have a special connection with the Faculty and can identify well with our students. Having the Faculty of Digital Media in common can often make it easier to start talking.
Cooperation in research and teaching
Interdisciplinary project work is an integral part of all our study programmes. It is also possible for our students to work with real companies or institutions in several of our courses. This is an excellent opportunity for them to gain insights into the real daily work of companies and get a taste of what to expect in the working world. It makes their study programme less abstract and helps them to link ideas. It is also a very valuable learning experience when classwork carried out over the space of a semester is actually applied or implemented.
Talks and workshops
Many of our graduates have founded their own companies - until today the Faculty of Digital Media is the HFU faculty with the most entrepreneurs. Many other students hold leading positions in successful, exciting businesses. We are happy for alumni to hold talks and/or workshops here at HFU. It gives students the opportunity to see what they learn from a new perspective, or to find out more about different topics. Workshops are especially useful for students, as they provide the opportunity to talk to potential employers.
