Entrepreneurship

As part of its Third Mission goals, Furtwangen University strongly promotes a lively entrepreneurial culture and supports its staff and students in developing and implementing their own business ideas.

To do so, the topic of entrepreneurship has been firmly anchored in the HFU Internal link opens in the same window:Innovations and Research Center in Tuttlingen (IFC) since it was set up in 2018. Business founders and those interested in starting their own businesses from all of our university campuses, receive individual support to help them to set up their businesses. TheInternal link opens in the same window:External link opens in a new window:StartupCampus initiative at the IFC has created an environment through which (potential) entrepreneurs and start-ups can gain theoretical and practical skills in this area, take advantage of a personal consultation free of charge, and network with helpful internal and external partners.

In addition, within the framework of the start-up project, entrepreneurship officers have been appointed on all University campuses, who then act as initial contacts for those interested in setting up their own business, and who can answer individual questions and support the implementation of the business ideas. Potential entrepreneurs are also able to build up an international network, exchange ideas and profit from mutual learning processes through the trinational Interreg Upper Rhine Knowledge Transfer Project (KTUR). Through these entrepreneurship initiatives HFU contributes to dynamic and innovative economic and business development both within the region and further afield.
