Applied Health Promotion

Master of Science

What keeps people healthy?

Health promotion is a field of practice in the health sciences which aims to strengthen people's health resources and reduce existing burdens. The focus is on the various factors influencing health. Social, economic and physical environmental conditions are among the relevant determinants, along with individual lifestyle factors.

In the Applied Health Promotion (AGF) Master's programme, health-relevant topics are dealt with on a regional and global level. The healthcare system with all the stakeholders involved is also examined.

Typical areas of investigation

  • How must working conditions be designed to keep employees healthy and motivated for decades?
  • How can assistive technologies (e-health) be used for health promotion?
  • How should the healthcare system be organised to ensure quality-assured care throughout the country and for all population groups?
  • How can the health competences of vulnerable target groups in particular be strengthened?
