The Engineering Study Abroad Programme offered by HFU in cooperation with San Diego State University (SDSU) is a so-called "faculty-led programme" for engineering students at SDSU. "Faculty-led" means that the students are accompanied by a lecturer of their own university who is generally responsible for teaching a technical module. As the guest university, HFU organizes a regional information module and a cultural support programme. The students of SDSU receive full recognition for this paid-programme at their university. It is very popular with the American students who often extend their stay for a whole semester.
The four-week summer school has been organized since 2015 in close cooperation between the International Center of HFU and the College of Extended Studies of SDSU.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has supported the "German-Iranian-Jordanian Cooperation to Improve the Connection of Technical Universities with Industry" (CICTI) project from 2015-2018 within the framework of the University Dialogue with the Islamic World Programme.
