How do I apply for PT?

Furtwangen University uses an online application platform for applications for a bachelor's degree programme. There you can apply for one or more degree programmes.

You will need the following additional documents to apply for the physiotherapy degree programme:

  • Certificate of good conduct
  • Self-disclosure
  • Medical certificate
  • Contract with Gesundheitsschulen Südwest GmbH

These documents must not be older than three months at the time of enrollment. It is sufficient if these documents are requested/completed after receipt of the letter of admission and submitted with the enrollment. Together with the offer of admission, we will send you the relevant forms for the medical certificate, information on how to apply for the certificate of good conduct and the contract with Gesundheitsschulen Südwest GmbH.

This is how the application works:

  1. Register at
    You will receive an applicant identification number (BID) and the corresponding applicant authentication number (BAN).
  2. Register at our university at and enter your BID and BAN there. Some of the personal and contact details will then be automatically transferred from your registration at
  3. You will receive a welcome email with an activation code as confirmation.
  4. Save your CV, university entrance qualification certificate, orientation test, vocational training certificate (if applicable), documents for the selection procedure and certificate of deregistration as a PDF on your PC. You will need these documents later in the application process.
  5. Apply to our university. You will be guided through the application process by an assistant.
  6. You can interrupt your application at any time and resume it later if, for example, you need to research additional information. Your previous details will be retained.
  7. You can only edit the application and the associated information until you finally submit it by clicking on "Submit application". After that, changes can only be made after withdrawing the application and the application will not be processed by the university until it is resubmitted.
  8. You can use the "Print control sheet" function to check and print all the data you have entered.

To the application form

Your admission to the physiotherapy degree programme:

  1. Admission offer
    At the beginning of August or from the end of January, the university sends admission offers via to all applicants who are offered a place.
  2. Accepting the offer of admission
    If you accept the offer of admission, this concludes the application portal process for you. We at the university are your contact persons for the rest of the application process.
  3. Letter of admission from the university
    After accepting the offer of admission, you will receive a link where you can download the following documents:
    • Transfer form for the semester fee
    • Transfer form for the liability insurance
    • Important information on enrollment with application for enrollment
    • Information letter on the certificate of good conduct document type NE
    • Self-disclosure/declaration form
    • Form for the medical certificate
    • Contract Gesundheitsschulen Südwest GmbH (GSSW) in simple form
    • Data protection information of Gesundheitsschulen Südwest GmbH (GSSW)
  4. Bank transfer
    Transfer the semester fee of €155 (as of winter semester 24/25). After receiving your offer of admission, please transfer the semester fee as soon as possible. The transfer details can be found on the transfer form, the subject line must be copied in full.
  5. Enrollment (matriculation)
    The enrolment period is individual and must be taken from the letter of admission that is sent to you. To enrol, you must register at Furtwangen University and submit the following documents - either in person during the opening hours of the Examination Office at Furtwangen University, by handing them in by a person authorised in writing or by sending them by post.

    • Completed application for enrollment
    • Registration certificate from the health insurance company for the university
    • Copy of your identity card
    • Self-declaration form/declaration
    • Medical certificate (not older than three months, form enclosed with the letter of admission)
    • Extended certificate of good conduct (not older than three months, document type NE, an information letter is enclosed with the letter of admission)
    • Completed contract with Gesundheitsschulen Südwest GmbH (single copy; it is sufficient if you complete and sign the contract. You do NOT have to take care of the signature of Gesundheitsschulen Südwest GmbH yourself)
    • GSSW contract
    • Any missing documents not yet submitted according to the letter of admission


  • You must accept the offer of admission, transfer the semester fee and enroll by the deadline, otherwise you will lose your entitlement to the study place.
  • Please also remember to transfer the fees for the liability insurance (transfer form is enclosed with the letter of admission).

Special requirements for foreign nationals

Foreign nationals with a German university entrance qualification are admitted in the same way as German nationals.

German nationals with foreign certificates cannot apply until the certificate has been recognised as a higher education entrance qualification by:

The Center for International Students of the Universities of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg (Studienkolleg Konstanz) will decide whether an assessment test or a German language proficiency test (DSH) must be taken or whether a direct university entrance qualification can be issued.

At the beginning of the coordination phase, an offer of admission for one of your applications may be made at any time due to the release of ranking lists and the withdrawal of other applicants. If there is more than one offer, the coordination regulations apply.

Coordinated clearing process: Study places that remain unfilled in the coordination phase are allocated in the coordinated clearing process. If you have not yet received admission during the coordination phase, hochschulstart will send you a link. Within a period of 72 hours, you can use this link to indicate your wish to participate in the coordinated clearing process for individual study programmes for which you have applied and have not withdrawn your application.
