Programme content and structure
Who is this the right degree programme for?
As a rule, our participants must have a degree. They are often graduates with a background in engineering, IT, the natural sciences or law. Ideally their academic background includes the basics of business administration.
Our participants are already faced with complex business management issues and contexts and hopefully have experience-based or self-taught knowledge.
Our participants have several (at least five) years of professional experience, often already in a position of responsibility. This aspect is a formal selection criterion.
Our participants have a good command of the English language and are able to hold discussions in it. This is also a formal selection criterion.
Focus of content
The focus on general management and the development of leadership potential are at the core of our programme. We show how strategic decision-making and problem-solving succeed in complex professional situations. Through practical orientation and close business contacts, we build bridges between science and practice. Our professional learning environment is specially designed to meet the needs of working managers. The small group size with a maximum of 15 participants enables intensive learning from and with each other.

EMBA specifics
The Executive MBA guarantees excellent support from highly qualified and experienced lecturers. As a rule, these are professors at HFU Business School who can look back on many years of practical experience in industry.
The Executive MBA has a clear international focus. Teaching is conducted 100% in English. The content is specifically tailored to global topics.
Programme participants come from many different countries and enrich the Executive MBA through the professional and personal experience from their home countries which they bring. So far, students with more than 20 different nationalities from four continents have taken part in the programme. Dealing with cultural differences is embedded in the curriculum, and is thus experienced intensively and personally. Most of the participants work in an international environment and benefit from this international orientation.
Two one-week modules abroad at top international universities are an integral part of the Executive MBA. They are among the absolute highlights of the programme. One module takes place at the top Brazilian university FGV in São Paulo and provides an insight into the Brazilian economy and culture. The second takes place at the prestigious Universidad de Málaga and focuses on Europe. A business simulation takes place over several days in mixed international teams.
