Info events at Furtwangen University help you to choose the right programme
The countdown is on! Prospective students have until 15 January to apply for a place at university for the coming summer semester. But which one? And where? And what needs to be considered?
“The decision to study is a milestone, and it's perfectly normal for young people to feel a little overwhelmed and have lots of questions,” says Lisa Schneider, academic advisor at Furtwangen University (HFU). As a university of applied sciences, HFU offers degree programmes with a particularly strong practical focus. “With our programmes, theory learned can be directly applied – this motivates students and shows them possible career paths right from the start,” says Schneider. “In addition, HFU offers special personal support. Our university is a manageable size. This means that our teachers get to know the students personally after a very short time and are available whenever there are questions or problems. And the students also get to know each other very quickly!
HFU offers more than 60 degree programmes in the fields of health, computer science, media, technology, and business. “From natural sciences to midwifery, from medical technology to security and safety engineering — we not only cover a broad spectrum, we also have a wide geographical presence,” says Lisa Schneider. In addition to its main location in Furtwangen, HFU also has a campus in Schwenningen, in Tuttlingen, a study center in Freiburg, and a research center in Rottweil.
In order to provide prospective students with guidance and the opportunity to ask current students about their experiences, Furtwangen University will be running many information events during the coming weeks until the application deadline. “Whether in person or online, across faculties or specific to a degree programme, we look forward to welcoming many curious visitors to whom we can present our exciting range of programmes,” says Lisa Schneider. For prospective students who have already applied, the university is organising applicant information days where they can get initial information about starting their courses.
The dates for the information days, as well as details and links to participate in the events, can be found on the university's website: www.hs-furtwangen.de. Applying for a place at the university is also easy via the website. If you have any individual questions, Lisa Schneider will be happy to provide you with further information: lisa.schneider(at)hs-furtwangen.de.
