Sorry, we're not training you to become a professional online shopper. Quite the opposite – with us you will get to know the world of digital business processes! We'll teach you how to set up web stores or develop new apps. Whether modelling or optimising, you'll become an expert in digital processes. You will also learn everything you need to know about traditional business information systems, i.e. business administration, databases, ERP systems such as SAP and software engineering.

  • Theory, practice and more Both theory and practice are very important to us. You'll already be working on a business and software project during your studies and can apply the knowledge you've acquired. You'll learn how to present and formulate and can also improve your foreign languages!
  • We're there for you With us, support begins even before you start studying! Bridging courses make you fit for your studies. You can also borrow the necessary equipment from us. During your degree, experienced students will help you with tutorials, we offer coaching sessions and are always available.
  • We know what we're doing The Faculty of Business Information Systems has been at Furtwangen University for 50 years. You'll benefit from our experience in digitalisation. We're constantly developing our course content to prepare you for the topics that are currently in demand.
  • Get out of the lecture hall We want to give you as much practical experience as possible. This includes using our good contacts with companies to provide insights into business processes. That's why we go on excursions and offer a series of lectures with companies and on exciting topics.

From the basics to specialist areas

The name says it all. During your foundation course, your first two semesters, we focus on the basics of business informatics. In the fourth semester, you will then spend six months in your practical semester immersed in the professional world in a company and apply what you have learned so far! After that, you will specialise further - you choose in which direction!

Not for non-voters

Electives allow you to tailor your studies to your interests. You can choose from topics such as eShop Design, Business Process Optimisation using Hyperautomation, Web Programming React or IT Security in Companies.
