Furtwangen University (HFU) is one of the best universities in Germany - this has been demonstrated once again in the current ranking by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE), published today in the ZEIT Study Guide and on the HeyStudium portal. This time it was the turn of the HFU Business School and the Faculties of Business Administration and Engineering, and Business Information Systems to be evaluated, and they have again made it into top positions!
Besides providing information about degree programmes, teaching and research, the CHE ranking also evaluates how students rate conditions at their university. In the ZEIT Study Guide, the universities are ranked in various categories using a traffic light system. HFU has been given the "green" light in all currently evaluated subject areas and categories and has thus earned a place in the top group of universities in Germany.
Business Administration and Engineering (WING) was awarded particularly good grades for, among other things, "Workplace relevance" and "Support at study begin". HFU students are also extremely satisfied with accessibility to teaching staff and support in case of questions and problems - in this category, HFU is well above average compared to other German universities. Organisation of studies and laboratory equipment were also rated top. Business Information Systems (WI) students agreed. This HFU faculty also achieved top scores. HFU also made the top group here in the categories of "Workplace relevance" and "Support at study begin", as well as in the category "Time allowed for completion of degree". The IT infrastructure, technical support and library facilities were also rated very highly. Quality, accessibility and comprehensiveness of materials for courses and examinations were also assessed as above average.
The "HFU Business School" (W), was also given the "green" light for "Workplace relevance" and "Support at study begin" and made it into the top group; good organisation of studies and the appropriate number of participants in the courses are seen as particularly positive here. This year, for the first time, stars were also awarded in the CHE ranking for "General study environment". Here, too, HFU did very well with 4.5 (WI and WING) and 4 (W) out of 5 possible stars.
"We are delighted with these excellent rankings," says HFU President Prof. Dr. Rolf Schofer. "We do everything we can to provide our students with top study conditions. It's great to see that we are obviously succeeding!" " The ranking results are also always a strong incentive for further improvements at the university," says Schofer.
With a survey of around 120,000 students, the CHE University Ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed comparison of universities in the German-speaking world. The complete ranking is available at heystudium.de/ranking.
