Head of Administration at Furtwangen University Andrea Linke moves to Nürtingen-Geislingen - new elections in May
Andrea Linke has been Head of Administration of Furtwangen University (HFU) for almost six years − now she is changing universities. In autumn, the lawyer and business economist will become the new Head of Administration of Nürtingen-Geislingen University.
"On behalf of the entire university executive board, I can say that we are very saddened by this news. We are losing our Head of Administration and her extensive expertise as well as her enormous commitment to our university," says HFU President Dr. Alexandra Bormann. “During her six years in office, Andrea Linke steered Furtwangen University confidently through stormy phases. The pandemic and the cyberattack were certainly among the most difficult times this university has faced. As Head of Administration, Andrea Linke has also met the challenges of transformation with immense expertise and great management skills.” At the same time, Linke has resolutely advanced key future initiatives at HFU. She placed a particular focus on the topic of digitalisation, which she has driven forward in all processes at the university. In the area of sustainability, she succeeded in establishing HFU as a coordination office for climate protection, she has led major funding projects for the recruitment of early-career professors, was committed to occupational health management and reorganised the university's fundraising activities. In July 2023, Andrea Linke was also elected Chair of the Administrators' Conference of Universities of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg.
Dr. Alexandra Bormann has worked closely with Linke since her own election around one and a half years ago − the Head of Administration was previously also a member of the Executive Board under Prof. Dr. Rolf Schofer. "I would like to thank her wholeheartedly for her outstanding commitment to the university. We will greatly miss her wealth of experience, her strategic vision and her hands-on approach," said Bormann, who warmly congratulated the Head of Administration on her new position on behalf of the entire Executive Board. "Our Head of Administration has chosen a well-recognised and distinguished university. We wish her every success and all the best in her new role − but right now we are still looking forward to working together for a few more months!" says President Bormann.
Andrea Linke is looking forward to the new challenges, but also says, "Furtwangen University is something special. I will have fond memories of my time in office here!" The six-year term of office of the current Head of Administration ends in autumn; the new elections at Furtwangen University will take place in May.
