International festivals on 24 May and 4 June
International cuisine and culture are celebrated at two “International Festivals” run by Furtwangen University (HFU) in the coming weeks. The first takes place on Saturday, 24 May in Robert-Gerwig-Platz in Furtwangen. From Saturday morning at 11.00am until 3 o' clock in the afternoon, international HFU students will present their home countries with culinary specialties and a diverse supporting programme. The event and the delicious food on offer is completely free of charge. You can bring your own dishes or rent them for a small fee. All takings will be donated to the Katharinenhöhe Hospital in Furtwangen. “Our motto is, ‘Celebrating doing good’,” explains Julia Hennig from the HFU International Center. “We are delighted that the town of Furtwangen is once again actively supporting us with this joint event.”
If you still haven't had enough of cultural celebration, you can drop by the HFU Schwenningen campus on Wednesday, 4 June. Starting at 5.30pm, the “International Festival” there will also feature traditional dishes from over 15 countries, prepared by students from the university. Throughout the evening, there will also be various performances with country-specific songs, dances and instruments.
“I am delighted that, as an international university, we are able to organise two festivals at the same time to bring cultural diversity to the local population,” says Ulrike Salat, Vice-President for Partnerships and Society at HFU.
Everyone is welcome to celebrate together with the students and staff of the university.
