  • Faculty: Business Information Systems
  • Programme begins: summer semester (March), winter semester (October)
  • Application deadline: 15 January (summer semester), 15 July (winter semester)
  • Entry requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science or similar discipline
  • Teaching language: German and English
  • Accreditation: yes (accredited through the university system accreditation)
  • Top reference "According to HR professionals, the best UAS graduates in business information systems come from Furtwangen," says, the career platform of the Handelsblatt Group.
  • No fear of complexity Networking companies, e-business applications, customer relationship management - your studies are all about system structures. Learn to see through complexity.
  • Know-how und know-why Master the systems and understand them. Benefit from the fact that our specialisation in software and system architecture is not offered at any other German-speaking university.

BAM specifics

Application architectures are based on systems that can perform standard tasks. These systems have a strong influence on the software architecture. These include, in particular, middleware concepts, transaction systems, workflow systems and systems for information evaluation (business intelligence).

You'll learn how to design complex applications based on the fundamentals of software engineering and technical system structures. The focus is on structural aspects of system design and coupling, such as architecture patterns, reference architectures and concepts of data exchange between systems, with the aim of developing scalable and robust applications.

In application architecture, we also act as an intermediary between customer requirements and their technical implementation. For this reason, you'll need knowledge of management and social interaction in addition to the essential technical knowledge. We also train you to acquire projects and propose project billing models.
