Students, professors, members of HFU staff and lecturers from all three faculties on the Schwenningen Campus: the Faculties of Mechanical and Medical Engineering (MME) and Medical and Life Sciences (MLS), and the HFU Business School, all participate in Campus Day. In addition, experts from industry, graduates of vocational schools and special schools for biological, chemical and medical lab technicians (BTA, CTA and MTA), technicians and engineers from industry who are looking for new challenges, the Mayor and town, community and regional councillors all attend. Students from the Computer Science, Computer Science in Media, Business Administration and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Industrial MedTec study programmes on the Furtwangen and Tuttlingen Campuses also take part.
Campus Day takes place in Schwenningen every year in April or May. What makes Campus Day, the university careers fair on the Schwenningen Campus of HFU, so unique, are the lectures which look at current developments in and perspectives on workplace-related issues. They replace regular lectures so that students have plenty of time to attend the lectures and the company stands.
HR representatives from industry, the trades, commerce and services are on hand to discuss employment and internship opportunities, and topics for Bachelor's and Master's theses. In addition, lectures and workshops provide more information on job applications, career planning and the profiles of various companies.
The Faculties of Mechanical and Medical Engineering and Medical and Life Sciences have been organizing the Industrietag careers fair for many years on the Schwenningen campus. Business Talks, a student initiative founded in 2003 by 3 students of the HFU Business School, had since then also been holding an annual Business Talks Lecture Event. The first Campus Day event combining both the Industrietag and Business Talks took place in April 2012.
The English-speaking student organization Business Talks, organizes English-speaking lectures by successful professionals, particularly HFU graduates. This lecture series is integrated into Campus Day.
