Research with a signal effect
The Institute for Smart Systems (ISS), headed by Prof. Dr. Dirk Benyoucef, has been working on scientific issues relatedto digital signal processing and embedded systems for many years. The research institute has a long tradition and emerged from the ReSP Research Group (Signal Processing Research Group), the DCSP Lab (Digital Communication & Signal Processing) and the LNHT Lab (Laboratory for Communications and High Frequency Technology). Research work has focused on the areas of applied signal processing and embedded systems in the context of smart systems.
The research institute works together with social scientists, microsystems technologists and sensor specialists in various interdisciplinary research projects.
Current projects are:
- Automatic classification of objects based on their color nuances using consumer CMOS sensors (WhiteStone)
- Black Pearl 3
- Intelligent energy monitoring: NILM
- iCounter
- iSendi
- Min-I-Dos
- High-end embedded system
