Flexible, resilient, durable
In the materials testing laboratory, materials are examined to determine their physical, mechanical and chemical properties. The aim is to assess the quality, resilience and suitability of materials for specific applications.
Materials testing is crucial for the development and selection of materials in various industries, such as construction, automotive, aerospace and medical technology. It ensures that the materials used meet the required safety and performance standards.
Students can put theoretical knowledge from materials science directly into practice in the laboratory by carrying out various test procedures themselves. Through practical tests, they gain an in-depth understanding of the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of materials, which is crucial for their future work in industry.
Purpose of lab
The materials testing laboratory is equipped with all the machinery and facilities required for comprehensive materials testing. The laboratory is used for the practical course in materials science in the Internal link opens in the same window:International Engineering and Internal link opens in the same window:Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics degree courses.
