How do I apply for ET?

Application deadline for winter semester (= start of lectures in October): 15 July

Application deadline for summer semester (start of lectures in March): 15 January

At the beginning of the coordination phase, an offer of admission for one of your applications may be made at any time due to the release of ranking lists and the withdrawal of other applicants. If there is more than one offer, the coordination regulations apply.

Application

Furtwangen University uses an online application platform for applications for a bachelor's degree programme. There you can apply for one or more degree programmes.

Please note: As an option, you can also submit a letter of recommendation from a hospital where you have worked or are currently working for your application to ET.

How does enrolment for ET work?

Once your application has been accepted, you can enrol.

Important: In addition to the general enrolment documents, the following documents are also required for enrolment on the Occupational Therapy degree programme. You do not have to submit these documents with your application! Please do not submit your documents until you have been admitted to the programme.

  • Proof of clean criminal record
  • Self-disclosure
  • Medical certificate
  • Proof of immunity for the vaccinations required by law in the healthcare sector
  • School contract with the cooperating vocational school

Once you have been admitted to the occupational therapy programme, you will receive further information from the faculty, the relevant forms and certificates for the documents, and the school contract with the cooperating vocational school for occupational therapy. You do not need to submit an additional application there.

Please note: The school contract must be submitted to HFU within 14 days of receipt.

Special requirements for foreign nationals

Foreign nationals with a German university entrance qualification are admitted in the same way as German nationals.

German nationals with foreign certificates cannot apply until the certificate has been recognised as a higher education entrance qualification by:

Foreign applicants with foreign certificates and stateless applicants must first submit a study application to the Center for International Students of the Universities of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg (Studienkolleg):

The Center for International Students of the Universities of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg (Studienkolleg) will decide whether an assessment test or a German language proficiency test (DSH) must be taken or whether a direct university entrance qualification can be issued.
