Security with system

In the Security Lab, students learn about various security methods and techniques in practicals. In this context, security refers to the protection of people, data and facilities using various techniques.

The aim of the practicals with various security methods is to develop practical skills and put theoretical knowledge into practice in order to design effective protection mechanisms and to identify and close security gaps.

Semester projects and laboratory work offer the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

Purpose of lab

The following experiments are currently carried out:

  • Handling various measuring devices (current, voltage, resistance measurement)
  • Setting up and programming a video surveillance system
  • Methods for opening security locks
  • Assembly of a simple burglar alarm system
  • Getting to know and commissioning an RFID article surveillance system
  • Analyzing and comparing light barriers of different designs
  • Using an oscilloscope in measurement technology
  • Analyzing and comparing smoke alarms of different quality levels
  • Integration of a monitoring system into an IP network

In addition to the compulsory internship, semester projects are also offered as laboratory work so that students have the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice.
