The “Industrial Solutions Lab” offers students at Furtwangen University the opportunity to understand industrial service processes through practical experimentation and problem solving. They work at various stations to optimise manufacturing processes, develop communication systems and test the possibility of additive manufacturing in spare parts supply.
The lab combines theory and practice to create innovative solutions for the industry of tomorrow.
Areas of focus
3D printing
Testing SLS and FDM printing processes in spare parts supply. This enables higher system availability in the industry.
Extended Reality
Developing XR maintenance instructions for smartphones and head-mounted displays. These applications overlay live images of the defective device with instructions and enable more efficient task processing.
Smart services
Use of condition monitoring and data analytics to implement predictive maintenance and remote service. This increases the efficiency of manufacturing companies.
