MWK funding for CoHMed to implement consolidation activities
The 'Connected Health in MedicalMountains' (CoHMed) innovation and transfer partnership has received a funding commitment from the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts (MWK) to implement its continuation activities. The MWK is providing funding of up to €250,000 until the end of 2030.
HFU researchers have been working on new solutions for medical technology as part of the CoHMed partnership since 2017. Over 15 HFU working groups and more than 30 external partners, including 18 SMEs, have been involved in 20 CoHMed joint projects.
“The follow-up funding from the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts, the CoHMed management project, responsible for the administration of this innovation and transfer partnership, will ensure the sustainable continuation of the established network and support the generation of new projects,” says CoHMed partnership spokesperson Prof. Dr. Knut Möller.
Furtwangen University is one of only ten universities in Germany to receive funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the “Strong Universities of Applied Sciences - Impulse for the Region” funding programme with a total volume of around €11 million. The aim of the CoHMed innovation and transfer partnership is to support medical technology companies in the region in developing sustainable products and to promote the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg region as a research and science location.
