My semester abroad at the University of New Brunswick (Canada) studying molecular and technical medicine
From the very beginning of my studies, spending a semester abroad was at the top of my list of things I wanted to experience. I saw it as a great opportunity to get to know how a university in another country, and even on another continent, is organised, and to improve my English language skills.
First, I attended various lectures at HFU about semesters abroad and then, once I had decided on my dream university, the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Canada, I submitted my application to HFU. After being accepted by both HFU and UNB, I started the final planning for my stay abroad.
UNB is a large university with approximately 11,500 students and is the oldest English-speaking university in Canada. The demands on students are very high, and I quickly developed a close relationship with the library. The range of subjects on offer is wide, and the professors are very committed and friendly, although there is no special consideration for international students. One of the reasons I chose UNB was because it offers a wide range of genetics courses, and I would like to specialise in this field.
UNB also offers a wide range of leisure activities for all students, such as a free gym, free ice hockey games, BBQs, parties, poker nights, and much more. So you'll never be bored.
