Andy Brand from Musiklusion thanked Prof. Dr. Andreas Gollwitzer, Prof. Dr. Jochen Huber, Richard Blocher, and Matthias Schreiyäck from HFU (from left) for their support.

Successful partnership for inclusive music culture

For ten years, the multi-award-winning Musiklusion project has been promoting barrier-free music-making and cultural participation for people with disabilities. Furtwangen University has been accompanying and supporting Musiklusion for many years as a strong cooperation partner – particularly in the development of digital musical instruments and innovative human-machine interfaces.

The anniversary was celebrated at Musiklusion together with around 70 guests at Lebenshilfe Tuttlingen. The initiative was launched in 2015 by Andy Brand and enables people with a wide range of abilities to actively make music – through motorised instruments and individually adapted digital interfaces. The philosophy behind it − to make technical innovation usable as social added value and to actively promote inclusion.

At Furtwangen University, Prof. Dr. Andreas Gollwitzer, Prof. Dr. Jochen Huber, Richard Blocher, and Matthias Schreiyäck from Tuttlingen Campus are deeply committed to the project. Together with groups of students, they have contributed to the development and refinement of the digital instruments. The cooperation with Musiklusion offers students the opportunity to work on groundbreaking human-machine interfaces in a practical setting.

Furtwangen University congratulates Musiklusion on its anniversary! We look forward to continuing to promote innovation and inclusion together with Musiklusion.
