IMTT presents interactive technologies at the Schwarzwald-Baar Clinic Nursing Congress
On International Nurses Day on 12 May, the Care and Technology Lab (IMTT) at Furtwangen University exhibited on its own booth at the Schwarzwald-Baar Clinic Nursing Congress in Villingen-Schwenningen. The IMTT's goal is to develop technologies that support nursing staff in their everyday work and improve nursing care in the long term.
The team brought along exhibits from current research projects for visitors to try out, touch, and discuss. One example was an interactive sound pad (KlangDem project), which is already in use in practice and supports people with dementia through sound stimulation. Virtual reality (VR) simulations were used to show how these applications enable safe, realistic training in complex care situations for both nursing staff and family caregivers. And the digital, playful applications of the KoMoS project help to maintain cognitive and physical abilities, thereby promoting independence and quality of life.
The IMTT is currently also working on the following innovative projects for the sustainable improvement of nursing care:
- aqP: Promotion and support of the deployment of academically qualified nursing professionals to further professionalise nursing practice
- DemCareDom Plus: An interdisciplinary approach to improving intercultural care for people with dementia
- External link opens in a new window:KIAFlex: Use of artificial intelligence to optimise discharge processes and relieve the burden on nursing staff
- KIDELIR: Early detection of delirium risk with digital support to provide targeted relief for nursing staff
- PPZ 2.0: Development of new digital care pathways to improve the quality of care
- PiTiPs also promotes participation and co-creation in the development of new care technologies, with a particular focus on actively involving informal caregivers and care communities
