The circular economy explained using examples from the Black Forest
On Thursday, 5 June at 7.00pm the next lecture in the Studium Generale series will be held in I Building (Unterallmendstraße 21), Room 0.17 in Furtwangen. With the title, ‘Roots of responsibility: Circular economy explained using examples from the Black Forest’, Laura Scherer, founder and owner of External link opens in a new window:Circu:Culture, will give an introduction to the topic and explain the ecological, economic and social benefits and the relevance of circular business models in the context of the local economy. The circular economy is a sustainable economic model that aims to use resources efficiently, minimise waste and keep materials in closed loops for as long as possible.
As a trainer and job coach, Laura Scherer inspires and empowers people to work in the circular economy. She is a lecturer in Circular Economy at Furtwangen University and brings circular literacy to the masses with her podcasts ‘Circu:Cast’ and ‘Futter für's Gehirn’. Before founding Circu:Culture, she worked for several years as a consultant for international corporate waste and recycling management, most recently for three years at the Schwarz Group as a recycling consultant for Lidl France and before that at GlobalFlow GmbH. A certified process manager, she holds an MSc in ‘Operations Management’ (industrial engineering with a focus on production) from the ESB Business School and a double bachelor in ‘International Business Management’ from Furtwangen University and Novancia Business School Paris.
