Interactive Media Design and Computer Science in Media master's programmes on joint field trip
In October, 15 students from the Interactive Media Design and Computer Science in Media master's programmes took a joint trip to Borgo San Lorenzo, north of Florence. On day trips, the students visited the exhibition “Who am I” by contemporary artist Ai Wei Wei in the spectacular Palazzo Fava in Bologna; in Florence, they also visited the world-famous collection of the Galeria degli Uffizi, including works by Michelangelo, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Carravagio.
The students also worked on site individually or in smaller groups on a project of their choice to explore the location. In the evenings, the focus was on cooking together and getting to know each other better. On the last day of their trip, the group visited a winery and learned about the special features of the fascinating and slow-paced world of winegrowing. Of course, a small tasting of ham and cheese was not to be missed. The presentation of the resulting work on the same afternoon ended with a last pizza dinner in a cozy atmosphere.
It was a memorable eight days full of shared experiences, culture and culinary delights. The excursion was initiated and supervised by the two deans of studies Prof. Thomas Krach (Interactive Media Design) and Prof. Dr. Ruxandra Lasowski ( Computer Science in Media).
