Initial workshops in ResonanzLab project
The “Internal link opens in the same window:ResonanzLab” research transfer project aims to make complex and above all negative emotions in the context of climate change visible, expressible, researchable and usable as a starting point for collective action. This is to be achieved through artistic engagement with the topic.
The project was launched in the summer; now the German-Filipino sound artist Christina Köhler (Tintin Patrone) is the first artist to join the project and was involved in an initial research workshop for all project partners and students. Under the title “Heidenei - Schutz durch Schall”, Tintin Patrone wants to create a modern adaptation of the Swiss Alpine blessing, an ancient protective ritual in which shepherds sing loudly to ask for divine protection for their livestock and surroundings.
“Heidenei” takes up this idea and aims to experimentally re-explore the voice as a central element of protection with local singers and vocal talents. In view of the urgency of climate protection, the artist would like to collaborate with with residents of the three-country region to develop various artistic action scenarios. “Heidenei” invites us to rethink the idea of protection through sound in a changing world and to reflect on the moral dilemmas surrounding technological and ecological crises.
The plays are to be developed together with interested people from the region and their thoughts on the topics of “climate anxiety”, “protection rituals” and “voice and presence” are to be incorporated into the music. At the same time, discussions with music therapists, researchers and students will provide additional pointers for a “protection through sound” strategy.
The interdisciplinary project team is planning further workshops in the new year, including a poetry slam workshop and slam evening on the topic of climate emotions in collaboration with the Villingen Schwenningen youth center and the Schwenningen municipal library.
