Turning theory into practice

The central workshop team (from left to right): Jürgen Kleiser, Matthias Wolf, Lukas Scherzinger and Michael Ketterer
The central workshop at Furtwangen University offers our students, professors and other staff the opportunity to put their theoretical projects into practice.
The staff at the central workshop provide support among other things in the production of parts and the implementation of student and research projects.
This enables our students to gain a good technical understanding, initial experience and confidence for their future careers while they are still studying.
The large selection of different machines and tools makes it possible to produce parts and prototypes from many materials, including wood, aluminum, steel, brass and others.
In addition to a 5-axis CNC milling machine, the workshop is also equipped with a CNC lathe, a 3D printer and the SolidWorks CAD design program to meet all requirements.
The team is happy to support students, professors and other staff with its expertise from the planning phase onwards.
