Automotive Transformation Strategy for the southwest of Baden-Württemberg
With over 25,000 jobs in the automotive industry, the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg region is one of the top 100 regions in Germany that are particularly strongly characterised by the automotive industry. This is where the initiative “Automotive Transformation Strategy for the Southwest of Baden-Württemberg”, or “AuToS SW-BW” for short, comes in.
The aim is to work with SMEs in the region to create a visible network of the regional automotive industry with a strong voice, to align business models with the future, to train employees and to transfer knowledge. As part of “AuToS SW-BW”, we are actively promoting hydrogen technology transfer for the region's automotive suppliers and other industrial partners. The focus here is on the requirements for the fuel cell system and its components (balance of plant).
As part of this technology transfer, research infrastructure of HFU in the field of hydrogen is being used and expanded with a view to the future. The modular fuel cell system test bench (MoSy) at the HFU Innovation and Research Center in Tuttlingen and the addition of a hydrogen training system (WaSS) to the existing infrastructure are particularly relevant here.
Automotive suppliers in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg region and throughout the south-west of Baden-Württemberg are welcome to actively participate in “AuToS SW-BW” to help shape the transformation.
