New research project uses AI to analyse space images
An exciting research project has begun at the Institut de Recherche en Informatique, Mathématiques, Automatique et Signal (IRIMAS) at the Université de Haute Alsace (UHA). IRIMAS is working together with the Institute for Data Science, Cloud Computing and IT Security (IDACUS) at Furtwangen University on the development of AI technologies for analysing astronomical image data.
The aim of the project is to use artificial intelligence in astrophysics to optimise the evaluation and interpretation of astronomical image data. With the help of advanced algorithms, the AI should be able to recognise patterns and anomalies in large data sets that are difficult for human researchers to identify.
The project could not only provide new insights into astrophysics, but also pave the way for innovative applications of AI in other scientific fields.
