“Walk for the Planet” is a documentary about an environmental peace movement. A portrait of people who are raising public awareness of global warming through an impressive climate march from Germany to southern Europe. An environmental-political road movie that tells the story of a new climate movement. Three young people found an environmental initiative in Freiburg. Lisa, Luca and Merlin no longer want to stand idly by and watch global warming, but want to raise public awareness of the climate crisis. Together with friends, they prepare for a climate march lasting several months, the “Walk for the Planet”. Their destination: the Mediterranean, which they want to reach with self-built solar cargo trailers. The movement is characterized by interesting group processes, energy-sapping challenges and impressive encounters. “The film “Walk for the Planet” shows the power of collective action, but also shows the limits of what is possible and the limits of our planet.” (Solar Future)
Director Marco Keller will be present in person to answer questions. His film portfolio is moving and includes international research. After “Kahlschlag - der Kampf um Brasiliens letzte Wälder”, the current focus is on the new film project “OLINDA - Heartbeats of Brazil”.
Admission is free of charge.
