What will the degree programmes of tomorrow look like? How could they be designed? What opportunities are there for students to get involved? These and other questions were discussed in the latest edition of the “Meet & Eat” event series at Furtwangen University (HFU). “Every year, we invite all students to a different location to get their opinions on a specific topic,” explains David Thien, co-organiser of the event. “Meet & Eat” is a series of events organised by the Center for Teaching and Learning (ZLL) at HFU. The ZLL team supports students in a variety of ways throughout their student journey, from the initial phase to graduation. In addition, the ZLL bundles a wide range of services to support teachers in the design and implementation of teaching.

Sponsored by the Pro HFU support association, participants were able to exchange ideas over grilled sausages and mulled wine to get in the mood. Afterwards, various questions prepared by the ZLL that were discussed in small groups. “The students had great ideas on the topic of participation and further development of the range of courses on offer,” reports Tobias Koppe from the ZLL.

David Thien was also delighted with the lively engagement, “The format always offers a great opportunity to involve the students. This time, we asked for their opinions on the topics of ‘Future Teaching,’ 'Future Skills,‘ and 'University of the Future.’”

The ZLL incorporates student input into the further development of the study and support services offered by Furtwangen University.
