Institute for Microsystems Technology presents current research at MST Congress
The MST Congress is considered one of the most important meeting points for microsystems technology in Germany. Every other year, researchers, companies, and students come together to discuss the latest developments, technological trends, and innovative research projects. This year, Furtwangen University (HFU) was also represented − a team from the Internal link opens in the same window:Institute for Microsystems Technology (iMST) participated in the congress in Duisburg from 27–29 October and presented their work to a national and international professional audience.
At their own exhibition booth, the iMST team showcased current research results and engaged in in-depth discussions with experts from both academia and industry. In addition, several of the team’s conference contributions were accepted and presented. One of the contributions focused on tunable terahertz filters based on metastructures, researched as part of the international MagMetaSurf project. The second contribution came from the medical technology field and dealt with the optimisation and characterisation of a miniaturised actuator for active implants, developed within the Internal link opens in the same window:CoHMed research projects.
Another highlight of the congress was the student competitions − the “Invent a Chip” contest for high school students and the COSIMA competition for university students. Here, young researchers from all over Germany presented their innovative ideas and received direct feedback from the professional community.
