During their visit to the Dominican Republic, HFU students gained deep insights into the challenges facing the healthcare system.
HFU students on field trip to the Dominican Republic
In September, students from Furtwangen University traveled to the Dominican Republic as part of an elective course. Together with Prof. Dr. Peter König, they visited the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and took an in-depth look at the healthcare system there. Students from the Applied Health Sciences and Applied Health Promotion programmes gained valuable insights into the diverse challenges and opportunities of the healthcare system in the Global South.
This international course was made possible by the DAAD-funded research Internal link opens in the same window:DemCareDom project. The HFU thus creates space for global perspectives and promotes understanding of health in an international comparison – with a view to global health and planetary health.
