New Studium Generale series - Furtwangen University on the path to the future
At Furtwangen University (HFU), the team behind the Studium Generale programme and the university culture representatives have designed a new series of lectures. “HFU on the path to the future” aims to provide “inspiration, orientation and provocation.” Three online lectures and a round table discussion are planned at the Schwenningen campus, to which anyone who is interested is invited.
The opening lecture, “Future Skills – What our students should be able to do for the future,” takes place on Wednesday, 29 October at 8.00pm. In this online lecture, Tobias Seidl from Stuttgart Media University will talk about the skills that future students should have.
The next lecture, entitled “Future Teaching – How does research-based learning work?”, takes place on Wednesday, 12 November at 8.00pm. In his online lecture, Thomas Hoffmeister from the University of Bremen will explain what research-based learning is and how it works.
On Wednesday, 10 December, at 8.00pm., Alexa Böckel from Leuphana University Lüneburg will give an online lecture on “Future Transformation – How can universities make themselves fit for the future?”.
The lecture series will conclude with a round table discussion with the executive board of Furtwangen University. On Wednesday, 21 January, 2026, at 6.00pm, President Dr. Alexandra Bormann, the new Head of Adminstration, Andreas Friedrich and the deans of the university's faculties will talk about the “HFU of the future.” The event at the Schwenningen campus (Jakob-Kienzle-Straße 17) will take place in E Building, Room 0.02.
