Cooperation between Furtwangen University and VEGA
A very special lecture hall has been inaugurated at Furtwangen University (HFU) − the new “VEGA Lecture Hall” has been designed in close cooperation with VEGA Grieshaber KG from Schiltach. The globally active manufacturer of process measurement technology supports the university through sponsorship.
One of the features of the redesigned lecture hall is its green walls, which create a particularly pleasant learning atmosphere. Natural wood panels have a warming and sound-absorbing effect. Students and teachers now benefit from an environment that promotes creativity, concentration, and interaction.
Simone Chr. Baumann, Head of HR at VEGA, emphasised at the inauguration, “Promoting education and knowledge transfer is not only a social responsibility, but also an investment in the future.” The design of the lecture hall reflects VEGA's corporate design. “Our slogan ‘Home of Values’ is also reflected here, and a lecture hall fits in perfectly with this, because one of our corporate values is curiosity,” said Baumann, who wished the students exciting course content and lively discussions in the new premises.
“We are proud to have found a partner in VEGA who shares our vision of a modern and inspiring learning environment and makes completely new ideas possible here,” said HFU Head of Administration Andrea Linke during the inauguration ceremony. VEGA stands for clear values. “Values and the communication of values will become increasingly important in the future.”
VEGA and Furtwangen University have enjoyed a successful partnership for many years, providing students with a wide range of practical insights – whether through specialist lectures in courses, interesting field trips or practical phases directly in the company. Every semester, numerous students complete their practical semester, their thesis, or take on a working student position at VEGA. As a symbol of this collaboration, the new lecture hall creates a space where students can develop their full potential. The green design contributes to making learning enjoyable and sustainable. In the VEGA lecture hall, for example, students from the computer science courses are being taught in the winter semester that has just started. Even at the inauguration ceremony, many were curious to take a look at the newly designed room – and were thrilled!
