Institute for Microsystems Technology (iMST) strengthens cross-location partnership
On 15 September, the Institute for Microsystems Engineering organised a team-building event in the Black Forest − the goal being to strengthen collaboration between the Furtwangen, Tuttlingen, Rottweil, and Schwenningen campuses and to promote networking.
The meeting point was the Brend Tower in Furtwangen, where the team set off together on a short hike. Highlights included the Brend Tower, the Günter Rocks, and the Breg River source. While long-standing employees were already familiar with the history of the Danube's origin and its source rivers, the Breg and Brigach, this provided fascinating new perspectives for international team members.
During the subsequent barbecue, there was time for informal exchange − new project ideas were discussed, current challenges explored, and institute-wide cohesion strengthened.
The team was especially pleased about the participation of Dr. Dominic Ruh. He will be joining HFU as a professor in summer semester 2026 and will be teaching some courses in the winter semester.
The successful excursion was a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the lab equipment and research projects at the various campuses and to further promote collegial cohesion.
