Freshers programme for Interactive Media Design and Computer Science in Media master's
Dear students,
We are delighted that you have decided to pursue a master's degree at the School of Design and Media in Furtwangen, in the Faculty of Business, Design & Media. To make your start with us easier, we will provide you with the best possible support so that you can make informed decisions and successfully complete your degree.
To this end, it is important that you check our communication channels regularly for news about your studies. You will need your university account to do this. You can find the login details for your university account (username and password) in the MIO Application portal under “Notifications/Certificates” / “HFU Account Information,” where you can log in with the login details you created when you applied. If you have already completed your bachelor's degree at the university and have been enrolled at HFU without interruption, your usual HFU login details are still valid.

You will also receive very important information by email to your HFU email address. Please check these media regularly.
You can view your timetable, including building and room details, via the S-Plan. Our online events take place via Zoom. Instructions on how to use Zoom can be found here.
To ensure smooth participation, we recommend that you log into Zoom well in advance of the start time to make sure that your computer setup and camera are working. For good audio quality, we strongly recommend using headphones or a headset to avoid sound interference. You can test Zoom in advance here.

Presentation of the university's various digital tools, including HFU accounts, HFU emails, the student portal, timetables, Zoom, and FELIX.

- 5.30pm: “BAföG, housing, counselling, etc.”— Student Services (Studierendenwerk Freiburg) offers advice
At this event, Student Services will present its services for students. The focus will be on the topic of student grants (BAföG) In addition, psychotherapeutic counsellors will introduce themselves and provide information on student financing and social counselling.
