Pre-semester programme in Computer Science
In the winter semester, Furtwangen University is once again offering its preparatory course “Computer Science Orientation”, a course unique in Germany. The six-month programme provides insights into various degree programmes on the Furtwangen campus — from general computer science, IT security, artificial intelligence, and computer science in media to business information systems and games & immersive media.
In a relaxed atmosphere, participants get to know everyday student life, discover their own interests, and prepare specifically for their future studies. Exam results can be credited toward a subsequent bachelor's degree if the content is relevant – without any pressure to perform.
The preparatory course is aimed at anyone who wants to gain their bearings before starting university or is still unsure about their choice of degree programme. In addition to specialist knowledge, participants also acquire soft skills such as time and self-management. An accompanying advisory service provides additional support in the decision-making process.
At the end, participants receive an official certificate listing all exams passed – a plus on their resume and a possible time saver in their future studies.
