Fourteen computer science graduates met again after 20 years. Unfortunately, the restaurant had already closed by late evening, but the mood remained exuberant and full of anticipation for the next reunion.
Graduates of the “General Computer Science” programme celebrate their 20th anniversary
Two decades ago, they studied computer science together – now 14 graduates of the “General Computer Science” program at Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences met to celebrate in style. Originally planned for five years ago, the alumni meeting had to be postponed due to the pandemic. This made the joy of finally getting together again all the greater.
Exchange about career paths and personal developments
The former students, who now live and work in various regions from Hamburg to Liechtenstein to Switzerland, made intensive use of the day to exchange information about their professional careers. Many of them have successfully established themselves in the computer science industry – from software development and IT consulting to research and teaching. The discussions impressively demonstrated how diverse and exciting the paths after graduation can be.
Tour of the university and the microcontroller laboratory
A special highlight of the meeting was an exclusive tour of the current premises of Furtwangen University. The microcontroller laboratory has been modernized, but still retains its familiar flair. The graduates were amazed at how the university has developed.
The crowning finale was a dinner together, where old friendships were refreshed and new contacts made in a relaxed atmosphere. This was followed by a walk through the catacombs of the GHB (Großhausberg, student residence) – a special place full of history and memories. Unfortunately, the store had already closed by late evening, but the mood remained exuberant and full of anticipation for the next reunion.
