Furtwangen University committed to new forms of learning

The ‘The Bländed learning’ project, whose office is based at Furtwangen University (HFU), now has its own website. The project team has had its hands full over the past few months since the project was launched in January. ‘We've attended many trade fairs, filled the last gaps in our team, moved into our own premises, worked on the website and much more,’ explains Melanie Wittmann, Head of “The Bländed learning” office at HFU.

‘The Bländed learning’ project of the state of Baden-Württemberg aims to design and establish new flexible degree programmes based on blended learning, thus counteracting the shortage of skilled workers. In Winter Semester 2025/26, three pilot degree programmes will be launched at eight participating universities in Baden-Württemberg, which will be coordinated by HFU. A special feature of the degree programmes is that they are always offered jointly by several universities. Furtwangen University will offer the Human-Centered Design degree programme together with Aalen University. ‘This − and the degree programmes to follow − aim to open up new opportunities for those unable to study in person, whether because of their job, caring for a relative or because they have other commitments,’ explains Melanie Wittmann.

‘Sometimes it's difficult to bring everyone involved in the project under one roof, but it has been a lot of fun setting everything up from the beginning, from the merchandising items to the website,’ summarises Melanie Wittmann. Thanks to the team, the project website has now gone live. It can be accessed at External link opens in a new window:www.theblaendedlearning.de.
