More than 479 visitors flocked to the Tuttlingen campus of Furtwangen University (HFU) on Sunday, 27 April. In chats with students and professors, taster lectures, workshops and laboratory and campus tours, they got to know the engineering school and its bachelor's and master's programmes. Another visitor magnet was the ‘Kid's University’.

Chiara De Franceschi from Leibniz-Gymnasium Rottweil attended the open day with her friend and alumna Alena Hetz to find out more about the degree programmes. ‘I'm interested in medicine and natural sciences. I could imagine that I would enjoy studying medical technology in Tuttlingen and would like to apply for it in the summer,’ says the school leaver. ‘Studying here on the Tuttlingen Campus is a real pleasure − the friendly atmosphere, the facilities, the support − everything is just great. I would study here again in a heartbeat,’ says mechatronics graduate and software developer Alena Hetz, recommending the study location.

‘We are thrilled that we were able to welcome so many people of all ages interested in technology to the campus,’ says Professor Dr Ulrich Kallmann, Campus Director and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology. ‘The Kid's university in particular fascinated children and parents.’
