Study advice, taster lectures and workshops for prospective students and parents - and a kid's university for curious kids

The Tuttlingen Campus will open its doors on Sunday, 27 April from 1.00 - 6.00pm. Prospective students can find out more from students and professors about the Tuttlingen location of Furtwangen University (HFU) and its bachelor's and master's degree programmes. Also on offer are taster lectures, workshops and laboratory, campus tours and even a “Kid's University” (from age three). Participation is free of charge - no registration is required.

From a Technical Orientation Prep Course, to degrees in Medical Engineering, Engineering Psychology, Mechatronics and Digital Production and Applied Materials Science − our programme is comprehensive. On the day, we show how multifaceted an engineering degree is and how enthusiastic our students, our partners from industry and the region, and the team from this faculty are, and we want to share this with young and old alike,” explains Professor Dr. Ulrich Kallmann, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.

Research stations for experimenting
As part of the kid's university, the Tuttlingen campus offers research stations with, for example, a technology and physics show or a library media quiz. “Inquisitive minds can solder, operate like in an operating theater or print 3D models,” says Kallmann. “And there's a surprise on top.”

Personal and practical - that's the Tuttlingen campus
Together with the companies in the region, the Tuttlingen campus offers a particularly practical education − classic or cooperative. From the first to the last semester, students gain insights into industry, can generate contacts and transfer the knowledge they have acquired on campus into practice. “The industrial internships, the equipment in the materials technology laboratory and the family atmosphere in Tuttlingen make my degree programme something special,” says Melina Blum, an Applied Materials Science master's student, and continues, ”Materials are the future of innovation. That's why my engineering degree is just right for me − the career field is exciting and offers me countless opportunities to work on new materials in research, development and quality assurance. This opens the doors to all technical sectors for me.”
