Heat treatment of cold and hot work steels
Furtwangen University cordially invites you to a lecture organised by the Tuttlingen Hardening Group on the Tuttlingen Campus on Wednesday, 09.04.2025 starting at 6.00pm. Prof. Dr. Franz Wendl, Head of the AWT Hardening Group Hagen, will give a lecture on the topic “Heat treatment of cold and hot work steels”.
About the lecture
The performance of many production processes depends on the service life of tool steels. Premature failure or reduced performance often lead to considerable cost increases and must therefore be avoided at all costs. In addition to a suitable choice of material, the correct heat treatment of the tools determines their service life. The presentation will discuss the entire heat treatment process for cold and hot work steels. Examples will be used to provide information on possible errors and how to avoid them.

About the AWT hardening circles
The hardening circles of the Working Group for Heat Treatment and Materials Technology (AWT) meet at regular intervals. The visit provides specialists and managers with basic and advanced knowledge about material optimisation processes, heat treatment processes and their areas of application. The focus is on the exchange of specialist information, experience and further training.
