- Since 2009: Professor at Furtwangen University – teaching focus fire safety and hazardous materials
- Qualified as Safety Engineer and Fire Safety Officer
Supported primarily research institutes of the Fraunhofer Society in fields of occupational safety, fire safety, and safety management on behalf of inter-company service - After graduating with biology degree: Conducted research at the Max Planck Institutes in Dortmund and Martinsried on the structure and function of membrane-bound proteins
- Since 1995: Active duty in the fire department
